Ilia State University’s governance is based on upholding democratic principles and implementing modern standards in higher education. The university is academically led and managed by the elected individuals – the Rector and administratively by the Head of Administration (Chancellor), both of whom are supported by governance teams, including the Academic Council and the Administrative Representative Council. The Academic Council serves as the highest body responsible for making decisions on academic matters, ensuring the quality of educational programs, fostering the development of research directions, and shaping the university culture. Meanwhile, the Administrative Offices organize the operational side of university management, including revenues and financial affairs, human resources management, faculty management, research administration, strategic development, and international relations.
